I have a interesting trip with my friend's Tilo Nadler (Endangered primate rescue center, Vietnam), Roland Maennel (Zoo Leipzig, Germany) and Bernd Geidel (Zoo Dresden, Germany) to a monastery near the border of Myanmar deep inside the forest of Sai Yok NP in Kanchanaburi province There was only a small bone-breaking road with much stone's and we have to take out the bumper to get more height for the car. Then we need about the whole day for only 30 km.
After some day's with the monk's in the forest we drive to the mountains of Thong Pha Phum and stay there in a small camp next to the road. There was nice deciduous forest on a altitude of about 700 m. Some interesting moths came to the light at night time and far away was also a forest fire. On day time we see nice bird's came to a flowering coral tree and also a snake eating a gecko.
Then we drive more to the north to Huai Kha Khaeng in Uthai Thani province to see some wildlife. It was very dry but we see some hog deer and also a group of a very rare bovine the banteng.
The next destination was more in the east...Phu Khieo, Chayaphum province. There we also look for some wildlife and see many sambar deer's, peacock's and some rare langur's
The last day's we stay in Khao Phaeng Ma in Nakhon Ratchasima province to see a very large group of the biggest bovine in the world the gaur.
