Our first destination in the south of Thailand was Phato, Chumphon province. There is a nice river surrounded by small hills with evergreen rainforest.
Next destination was the coastline of Ranong province, there are a nice mountain range with evergreen forest. We stay there on the top of a hill about 550 meter high.
Then we drive to Nakhon Si Thammarat province and found there near Ron Phibun a very nice mountain range with an amazing tree fern forest about 900 meter high.
Another place also in Nakhon Si Thammarat province was Nopphitam. These is a lowland place with very nice evergreen rain forest and there I get a female of Archaeoattacus staudingeri a new recorded Saturniidae moth for Thailand.
Then we drive along the eastern coastline back to the north and stay on a hill near Khanom in Surat Thani province.
The next destination was Khao Sok in Surat Thani province and we stay there for one night in a limestone quarry. Some villager cut a palm tree to get some beetle larvae as food.
Our last place on the way back to Bangkok was Khao Sam Roi Yod in Prachuap Khiri Khan province. There is beautiful landscape with limestone mountains.
