Trip to Laos, Khammouan province together with my friends Tilo Nadler (Endangered Primate Rescue Center, Vietnam) and Roland Maennel (Zoo Leipzig, Germany) The reason was to get some information about 2 Langur species (Laos Langur and Hatinh Langur with a black morph or another species?). At nighttime I am look for some moths also.
On first day we travel to Thakhek (Khammouan province) to explore the area with very nice limestone mountain, look at some small local market, climbing up one limestone hill and stay on a very nice place at nighttime, surrounded by the mountains.
On the next 2 days we found one nice place with forest edge and also surrounded by limestone mountain. At morning time my friends can see some black Langur in the limestone mountain but very far to take some good and clear picture
Then we get some information about some wild Langurs and on as a pet in a village.
We start to the village and the road was very difficult but we see the Langur as a pet and stay at nighttime in the village.
After a bone breaking ride from the “Langur village” we drive to the north of the Khammouan limestone mountain and stay there near Boneng. There was a very nice valley and we stay there at nighttime.
The last day we drive some small roads to another very nice place near Boneng and my friends can found the Laos Langur with white head also very far for better picture.
Thank you very much to my friends Tilo Nadler and Roland Maennel for this very interesting trip and his support.
